Five Steps to Installing the Axial Split Case Pump
The axial split case pump installation process includes basic inspection → installation of the pump in place → inspection and adjustment → lubrication and refueling → trial operation.
Today we will take you to learn more about the detailed process.
Step one: View Construction Drawings
Step Two: Construction Conditions
1. The pump installation layer has passed structural acceptance.
2. The relevant axis and elevation lines of the building have been drawn.
3. The concrete strength of the pump foundation has reached more than 70%.
Step Three: Basic Inspection
The basic coordinates, elevation, dimensions, and reserved holes should comply with the design requirements. The foundation surface is smooth and the concrete strength meets the equipment installation requirements.
1. The plane size of the axial split case pump foundation should be 100~150mm wider than the four sides of the pump unit base when installed without vibration isolation; when installed with vibration isolation, it should be 150mm wider than the four sides of the pump vibration isolation base. The elevation of the top of the foundation should be more than 100mm higher than the completed floor surface of the pump room when installed without vibration isolation, and more than 50mm higher than the completed floor surface of the pump room when installed with vibration isolation, and no accumulation of water should be allowed. Drainage facilities are provided around the periphery of the foundation to facilitate water drainage during maintenance or to eliminate accidental water leakage.
2. The oil, gravel, soil, water, etc. on the surface of the pump foundation and the reserved holes for the anchor bolts should be cleared away; the threads and nuts of the embedded anchor bolts should be well protected; the surface of the place where the pad iron is placed should be chiseled.
Place the pump on the foundation and use shims to align and level it. After it is installed, the same set of pads should be spot welded together to prevent them from loosening when exposed to force.
1. The axial split case pump is installed without vibration isolation.
After the pump is aligned and leveled, install the anchor bolts. The screw should be vertical and the exposed length of the screw should be 1/2 of the screw diameter. When the anchor bolts are re-grouted, the strength of the concrete should be 1 to 2 levels higher than the foundation and not less than C25; the grouting should be compacted and should not cause the anchor bolts to tilt and affect the installation accuracy of the pump unit.
2. Vibration isolation installation of pump.
2-1. Vibration isolation installation of horizontal pump
The vibration isolation measure for horizontal pump units is to install rubber shock absorbers (pads) or spring shock absorbers under the reinforced concrete base or steel base.
2-2. Vibration isolation installation of vertical pump
The vibration isolation measure for the vertical pump unit is to install a rubber shock absorber (pad) under the base of the pump unit or the steel pad.
2-3. Rigid connection is adopted between the base of the pump unit and the vibration-absorbing base or steel backing plate.
2-4. The model specifications and installation position of the vibration pad or shock absorber should meet the design requirements. The shock absorbers (pads) under the same base should be of the same model from the same manufacturer.
2-5. When installing the shock absorber (pad) of the pump unit, measures must be taken to prevent the pump unit from tilting. After the shock absorber (pad) of the pump unit is installed, measures must also be taken to prevent the pump unit from tilting when installing the inlet and outlet pipes, fittings and accessories of the pump unit to ensure safe construction.
